Freshmen Scholarships for Fall 2023

Guaranteed Scholarships - No Test Required

Students will be awarded the top academic scholarship that they qualify for based on their cumulative high school GPA.

The State of Michigan has recently announced the new Michigan Achievement Scholarship for new freshmen entering SVSU in the fall of 2023. Dean's Scholarship

  • 3.75+ GPA required

Valley Housing Scholarship

  • Renewable 4-year award for recipients of President's, Founder's, Dean's, Cardinal, University, or Faculty scholarship
  • On-campus residency required
  • No deadline to qualify

Red & White Award

REDUCED TUITION


Available to non-Michigan residents.

  • Admitted students with a 2.5+ GPA
  • Students will be granted a significantly reduced out-of-state tuition rate
  • No deadline to qualify

 


SVSU Opportunity Grant

UP TO $6,000


Available to all admitted, first-time in college students with demonstrated financial need. 

  • FAFSA required
  • Up to $5,000, off-campus students
  • Up to $6,000, on-campus students
  • Renewable for four years with demonstrated financial need

Available to new students who are children, step-children or grandchildren of SVSU graduates (including guardians).

Member of the military?

The Military Student Affairs Office (MSAO) is dedicated to the needs and concerns of all military-affiliated students and is staffed by a full-time director, the school certifying official, and Veterans Affairs student liaisons, who have all served in the military.
